On September 30, 2025, at precisely 9:59 p.m., a powerful magnitude earthquake struck with its epicenter on the coast of Bogo City. This ranks as one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded in the region. This intense shaking caused significant destruction, including the collapse of buildings, damage to roads, and power outages, which eventually affected residents in the area. Neighboring municipalities such as Daan Bantayan, Medellin, San Remegio, Tabuelan, and even Cebu City felt the severe impact of the earthquake.

On November 4, 2025, Cebu Province was one of the places most severely affected by Typhoon “Tino”. The most destructive element was “flash floods” that unleashed 203 millimeters (mm) of rainfall from the mountain down to the low-level areas of Talisay City, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Danao City, municipalities of Consolacion, Lilo-an, Compostela, Balamban, Tabogon, and Asturias, all of Cebu province. The impact of the flash floods swept away houses, cars, and even took away the lives of the settlers and their whole family, destroying cultivated farms, and killing their livestock.

In the aftermath of this magnitude catastrophe, the ACCERT Executive Committee (EXECOM) formed a Disaster Relief Operation Team spearheaded by the ACCERT Corporate President, DR. MIGUEL C. ORTIZ, assisted by the Corporate Secretary/Legal Adviser, ATTY. MANUEL MOMONGAN, JR., together with the Vice President for Finance, PTNR. EDGAR MALAPITAN, Vice President for Visayas, PTNR. FERNANDO SAMONTANEZ, JR., Cebu City Chapter Director, PTNR. LORENZO BACATAN, JR., K-Tourister Chartered Chapter Director, PTNR. CONSORCIO ELANO, JR., and Junior/Youth Affairs, Vice President, PTNR. DAVIDOFF OSCAR LAURENTE will implement coordinated efforts to provide immediate and long-term aid to the disaster’s victims. Key activities of the team will include distributing essential supplies like food, water, and a tarp for temporary/makeshift shelter to the needs and use of victims of calamities. On 12th of November 2025, a combined element of EXECOM, K-Tourister Chatered Chapter, Emergency Response Team, Cebu City Chapter, Junior/Youth Affairs, led by Dr. Miguel C. Ortiz, conducted Relief Operations at Bgy Umapad, Mandaue City, giving aid to the flood victims. Thereafter, the combined elements proceeded to the mountain barangays of Lilo-an, Bgy Mulao, and Bgy Cabadiangan. Food and water were distributed, and likewise, medical assistance was provided by youth members to the victims who needed medical attention.

The team distributed relief goods for Bgy Cabagdalan, who have been neglected for help, the place is far from the national highways. Medical attention was taken care of.
